Nevados Women’s Klondike Waterproof Low V4161W Hiking Boots Review

8.2 Total Score
Life’s easy and simple. So can be picking your hiking boots!

Things don’t have to be complicated and you don’t have to go over your head to get some good hiking boots. These are versatile enough, warm enough in the winter, sturdy enough on a slippery trail, lightweight enough and get cleaned easily enough. They look nice, they give good ankle support, are waterproof, they comfort your feet... how picky are you anyway??

PROS:
  • the boots have a great price for the quality they have
  • the boots remain dry and keep away the elements all day long
  • the boots are sturdy

CONS:
  • the boots rub at first
  • they tend to feel heavy weight after a while, when hiking

I was in a hurry when I placed the order for these boots and I really didn’t know what to expect. They arrived very fast and that was a first good sign for me.

So, it was quite a nice surprise to see these boots are not that bad as I was afraid they were gonna be.

I did order these boots half a size larger to be able to wear thick socks and I’m not sorry for that.

I don’t hike that often these days, but I bought these especially for my walks around the town and for work. As I work in a farm, I do need some boots that are comfortable and keep my feet dry all day long. And these ones do just that.

The boots keep me also warm in the winter time and they are sturdy enough on the icy ground.

The boots feel (for me, anyway) lightweight and are very easy to put on.

I like these boots as they give good ankle support and my recent foot surgery is not giving me any problem when wearing these.

The boots also look pretty nice and have a fit length.

No matter how the surface is (wet, full of mud or dirt), these boots remain dry and get cleaned pretty fast.

I also like these boots for the fit and sturdy feel they give.

I think I’m going to use these boots for some time to come.

My pros for these boots are:

  • the boots have a great price for the quality they have
  • the boots remain dry and keep away the elements all day long
  • the boots are sturdy
  • the look of these boots is really nice
  • the support and comfort are good as well

When it comes to the things I don’t enjoy that much, the first thing that comes to mind is that the laces run a bit short.

The boots are waterproof, but not entirely water repellent- it has happened to me to get my feet wet. The boots got dry fast, but that’s not the point.

There was a small rub in the back in the beginning, because the boots are cut high. This cut gives great ankle support, but also that kind of rubbing. It got better with time, though.

As all leather hiking boots (they are not entirely made of leather, but still), the boots were a bit stiff at first but they get softer with each wear.

I do not hike that often, but I wouldn’t take these boots when heavily backpacked as they tend to feel heavy weight after a while (or it might be I’m not experienced enough for heavy duty trails just yet).

My list of cons:

  • the boots rub at first
  • they tend to feel heavy weight after a while, when hiking

I take these boots at work, around town and in my hikes. I am happy for having bought them, as they are low priced and seem pretty durable.
