Salomon Women’s Conquest GTX Boot Review

9 Total Score
Hiking for 12 hours right on the 1st wear, has never been more comfortable!

These boots "deserve" no mercy as they can take any muddy, slippery, wet hiking trail, no matter if its in the summer or the late fall. You can even challenge them with some crampons and snow: they handle it pretty well! And... they look good also!

PROS:
  • the boots are quite waterproof
  • they give great comfort
  • they fit just right

CONS:
  • the boots are quite stiff in the beginning
  • the boots could use more cushioning
  • the arch support could be better

I am an active person and I don’t waste any opportunity to go hike or simply walk in the woods, no matter what the weather conditions are like.

When I got these Salomon boots I took them for a “spin” around the house – just wanted to be sure – and the next day I went hiking. They didn’t give me any blisters, any hot spots and didn’t tire my feet even on long hikes…

So, you take it by now that these boots are very comfortable and keep your feet in good shape for a long time.

I tried these boots in various weather conditions and on multiple terrains, slippery, wet, muddy… They kept my feet warm in the cold and dry in the summertime. And that’s hard to get from any pair of boots. So they go great in the summer and late fall just as well.

I even put these babies on in the winter, added crampons, and they felt just as sturdy.

I found no slipping in the heel, and the toe box is large enough.

As a matter of fact, I think these boots run true to size (mine did, anyway) and I’m able to wear them even with a pair of thick wool socks.

The boots are a great fit, the right length and keep my feet nice and snuggle, without being too tight.

The laces are good quality and remain tied up (that’s quite an issue with many boots!) all day long.

As I hike, I don’t stay away from mud, puddles and the boots do get dirty but it’s very easy to clean them.

The boots look amazing and it’s nice to hike and look pretty at the same time, right, girls? 🙂

The soles give a good grip and I feel these boots to be sturdy, in any puddles, muddy trails, or slippery rocks.

My list of „pros”:

  • the boots are quite waterproof
  • they give great comfort
  • they fit just right
  • the boots keep the feet warm in the cold and dry in the summertime
  • the boots give good stability
  • the quality of the boot is amazing
  • the toe box is nice and large
  • the look of these boots is unique

I found these boots to be a bit heavy in the beginning, but that got better in time- or I got used to their weight…

I use inserts for these boots also- I like more cushioning and I use inserts as often as I can.

I would like the boots to give me more arch support.

I felt the boots a bit stiff in the first wears, but this improved in time.

I am happy with the toe size, but I think a narrow feet person will find the toe area too large.

My list of „cons”:

  • the toe area is a bit too large
  • the boots are quite stiff in the beginning
  • the boots could use more cushioning
  • the arch support could be better

Don’t get me wrong: I still think these are some of the best hiking boots I ever had, and I wouldn’t change them for others!
